Picnic Island Park is a gem over by the Port of Tampa. I know it’s a gem not just because their website says so, but I know so. It has a sandy playground and sandy beach. Sheltered picnic tables, and Frisbee golf course. There is a dog beach too. It is near the pier. Sunrise to sunset come to life in a breezy way full of fun on Picnic Island Park.
Honeymoon Island State Park is technically in Dunedin but it is a natural habitat for a fun seeking GMC Acadia owner who wants to put a great looking SUV to good use. This is a place where the beach is king, and sunsets are like a coronation. The cost is minimal, $8/vehicle. Swimming, surfing, or just wave watching to let the busy world fade away. It is like a vacation within a vacation.
